BOBCATS STUDENT TRAINER PROGRAM
Healthy Living Centre
“Interested in a career in sports medicine, Athletic Therapy, Physical Therapy,
Occupational Therapy? Fitness and Exercise Science?”
The Bobcats Student Trainer Program provides students with the opportunity to experience the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Students gain experiential learning under the mentorship of a Certified Athletic Therapist.
Student Trainers will:
- Assist with athlete injury prevention and rehabilitation in the Sports Medicine Clinic.
- Be assigned to a Bobcats team for a season and will cover practices and games at home and away.
- Acquire valuable experience to future career as a therapist, educator, coach or other professions.
Student Trainer Program Admission Requirements:
- Enrollment in Brandon University
- Valid CPR (by September 2026)
- Valid First Aid Certificate (by September 2026)
Students may also wish to have the following (but not required):
- Experience as a trainer in high school or college
- Manitoba Athletic Therapists Association – Sports First Aider
- Canadian Hockey Safety Program
- Aquatics and other awards

Wednesday April 8th, 2026, from 1:00pm – 1:30pm at the Sports Medicine Clinic
