Recreation and Inclusion Supervisor

Description
The Recreation and Inclusion Supervisor plays an important role in our summer camp program, they assist with the planning, organizing, and delivery of designated recreation and inclusion activities and programs. The Recreation Inclusion Supervisor also implements integration protocols and intervention plans for participants with disabilities and/or support needs.
We promote and encourage people who require inclusion support to participate in a wide variety of activities offered throughout our communities. We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces can take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
- College diploma or certificate in Child and Youth Care, Autism and Behavioural Science, Therapeutic Recreation, Educational Support, AND some years of experience related to working with children/youth and individuals with disabilities, or a related field
OR
- High School diploma AND several years of experience related to working with children/youth and individuals with disabilities, or a related field
AND
- Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
- Current High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) Certification
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training, an asset
- Behavior Management Systems certification, an asset
- Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)/Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) Therapy training, an asset

- In programming and delivering activities
- In inclusion practices and supports
- In personnel administration
- In budget administration
- In group supervision
- In applying policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislation
- In implementing inclusive and adaptive programming and supports
- In crisis intervention and behaviour management techniques
- In communicating with families, caregivers, educators, service providers and other community

- Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling, and/or pushing (i.e. more than 22 lbs/10 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg)
- Extensive walking and/or standing may be required
- Exposure to sanitization and/or cleaning agents
- Exposure to bodily fluids and/or waste
- May require work in various indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures
- May be exposed to physical or verbal aggression from participants
- This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
As part of the selection process, the successful candidate must successfully complete a Reliability status security screening and Vulnerable Sector Check.
