We're looking for a motivated individual to join our team in one of our three offices: Miniota, Inglis, Oak River

OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The Assiniboine West Watershed delivers land and water management programs to stakeholders within the district. The Resource Technician will carry out a variety of responsibilities that change seasonally. The primary role is to deliver AWWD programs on agricultural lands across our district, under the guidance of the Regional and General Managers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Shelterbelt program delivery
• Data collection
• Project monitoring
• Transporting equipment
• Maintaining District Assets
• Collecting soil and water samples
• Operation of ATVs, small machinery, and tools
• Assist with communication and promotion
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
• Self starter, enthusiastic personality geared towards personal and professional growth
• Excellent planning and organization skills
• Verbal and written communication skills, willing to undertake public speaking
• A valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License
• Understand the rural grid based public land survey system
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Ability to maintain good working relationships and to deal with the public

ASSETS
• Competent with ArcGIS Online, and Microsoft office
• Capable of using GPS and RTK units for survey purposes
• Capable of operating all-terrain vehicles
• Practical understanding of ecological restoration and agricultural practices.

KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION
• Post-secondary education in a related field (Resource Mgt, Environmental or Agricultural Studies)
• Awareness of conservation and faming practices an asset

COMPENSATION
• The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000 annually, based on education and experience
