2025/26 Spring/Summer Terms, Course-Based Contract Opportunities – Faculty of Education
The Faculty of Education is seeking qualified Contract Academic Staff (CAS) to teach the following courses online in the 2025-26 Spring and Summer Sessions. Please apply by submitting a letter of application, a curriculum vitae and the names and contact information of three referees in a single pdf file in English to the Office of the Dean of Education (see email below). Indicate for which courses you are applying. If applying to teach more than one course, each course will require its own application. The courses will run based on sufficient enrollment and budgetary approval.
Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Education, and those holding a Ph.D. or who are at the ABD stage may be preferred. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Master’s and are invited to contact the Dean of Education on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.
Salary: $7,857.00 per 3 credit hour course.

Summer 2026
01.770 Issues in Ed Admin (Topic: Classroom Management) NET – Time TBA, Term 2 (Jul 27-Aug 17)
Given the increasing complexity of school communities, it is critical that school leaders take responsibility for developing environments in which everyone is respected, supported, and valued. This course examines how leaders guide and support teachers and staff in developing classroom procedures, routines, and behavioural approaches that promote student success and relationality. Students will consider equity, diversity, and inclusion; truth and reconciliation; and the challenges of polarization in school communities. Students will develop leadership strategies to support diverse classroom contexts within a coherent, collaborative school plan.
3 lecture hours per week, one term.
02.793 Graduate Explorations (Topic: Curriculum, Reconciliation and Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being) NET, Time TBA, Term 2 (Jul 27 – Aug 17)
This graduate course invites educators to examine and advance reconciliation as a relational and curricular practice. Grounded in Indigenous onto-epistemologies, histories, and contemporary sovereignty, this exploration examines the intersections of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing with land-based learning, storytelling, language, kinship, and community-engaged approaches. Students will critically consider
curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment through decolonizing and Indigenizing lenses, guided by the TRC Calls to Action, UNDRIP, and local protocols.
3 lecture hours per week, one term.
04.710 Career-Life Development and Counselling – NET – Time TBA, Term 2 (Jul 27 – Aug 17)
This course will provide in-depth examinations of theory, research, and practice related to career-life development and counselling across the lifespan. Understanding the psychology of career-life development as a dynamic and holistic process, with attention on the practice of career counselling for diverse populations in educational settings, will be a central focus.
04.770 Intercultural Counselling – NET – Time TBA, Term 1 (Jul 2 – July 22)
The course will introduce the students to the theory and process of counselling as it interfaces with multicultural clients. The course will explore counselor beliefs and attitudes, provide knowledge of methods used to counsel in cross-cultural contexts and will train students to use skills which are culturally sensitive.

o Your Curriculum Vitae should include:
- Education and training background in field
- Evidence of M.Ed. and / or PhD or Ed. D
- Evidence of teaching experience in Canadian Public Schools and/or other relevant educational contexts such as provincial teaching certification(s).
Evidence of successful post-secondary teaching experience. - Evidence of relevant ongoing professional development, professional memberships, publication(s), conference presentations, and /or community involvement.
