Department of English, Drama & Creative Writing – Faculty of Arts – Six-month Term

The Department of English, Drama and Creative Writing invites applications for a six-month term position. The successful candidate will teach the following courses:

30.274 Creative Writing
30.353 Creative Writing: Poetry
30.459 Advanced Seminar in Creative Writing

The successful candidate will join a department with supportive colleagues that are actively working towards equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization in their research, creation, and teaching programs. The candidate will have opportunities to develop their career and have access to a Professional Development Allowance. Additionally, multiple professional mentorship opportunities are available to the successful candidate. Willingness to participate collegially in service to the department, university, and the community that it serves will be expected.

Qualifications: The essential qualification is an MFA or MA in Creative Writing. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Master’s degree and are invited to contact the Office of the Dean of Arts on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials. Applicants must demonstrate teaching competence and expertise in the field and must have an active research/creation agenda.

Rank: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Internal applicants are current full-time or part-time Brandon University Faculty Association (BUFA) Members on a continuing or regular appointment (does not include Contract Academic Staff (CAS)), CAS who hold RFR in one (1) or more courses in the Department of English, Drama and Creative Writing, or the spouse/partner of a current full-time or part-time BUFA Member on a continuing or regular appointment.
