Duties:
– Complete administrative functions related to Residence
– Assist and advise students, assist non-students/guests
– Collaborate with Ancillary Services regarding Residence matters, including reporting room damage
– Assist with community management and emergency evacuation planning
– Assist with residence programming and team development for students
– Work with minimal to no direct supervision
– Working hours include day, evening or weekend shifts, as needed
and other relevant duties as assigned. *It is a requirement to live in BU Residence to fulfill the duties of the role*
Qualifications/Experience:
-Demonstrated good study habits
-Strong time management skills, problem-solving and organizational skills
-Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills with a sound understanding of the university student experience
-Ability to be compassionate and supportive through challenges students encounter that may impact success
-Ability to use sound judgment, taking initiative and being creative
-Must be a full-time Brandon University student in good academic standing, with a
minimum GPA of 2.5 in the term prior to being selected as a Residence Assistant
-Minimum of 4 months of post-secondary studies
-Previous leadership experience is a strong asset
-Previous experience as a Residence Assistant is highly desirable
