Open Horizons is committed to providing an inclusive, welcoming, and accessible experience for all attendees. This policy outlines the supports available before and during the event, as well as instructions for requesting accommodations or assistance.
If you require support at any time, please contact hello@campusmanitoba.ca.
Accessibility at the venue
The event venue is equipped to support attendees with a wide range of physical accessibility needs:
- All primary event spaces, including registration, breakout rooms, and washrooms, are wheelchair accessible.
- Elevators are available for access to all floors used during the conference.
- Barrier-free pathways are maintained throughout the venue.
- Accessible seating is available in every session room.
If you require accessible seating, mobility-device space, or additional arrival time, please notify us when registering or by emailing hello@campusmanitoba.ca.
Mobility assistance
If you need help navigating the venue or require specific mobility accommodations, we strongly encourage submitting requests by June 1, 2026.
Requests made after June 1 will still be accepted, and we will do everything we can to accommodate them based on feasibility and venue limitations.
Sensory & neurodiversity accommodations
To support a variety of sensory needs, the event may offer:
- Quiet/low-stimulus spaces for breaks
- Reserved seating near exits to allow discreet entry or exit during sessions
Requests can be submitted during registration or by emailing hello@campusmanitoba.ca.
Dietary accommodations
We strive to accommodate dietary needs whenever possible.
- Dietary accommodations can be submitted during registration or by emailing hello@campusmanitoba.ca until June 1, 2026.
- Requests received after June 1 may still be considered but cannot be guaranteed due to catering deadlines.
Support persons & service animals
Support persons
Support persons are welcome. If you will be accompanied by a support person, please let us know so we can ensure appropriate arrangements for seating and access.
Service animals
Please note that the University of Manitoba requires documentation confirming that an animal is a trained service animal, as pets are not permitted in any University of Manitoba buildings.
Event staff may request to see this documentation upon entry. Once verified, service animals are permitted in all public areas of the venue unless otherwise restricted for safety reasons.
Emergency assistance & evacuation support
If you may require assistance during an emergency evacuation (e.g., mobility assistance, visual guidance, or other support), please notify the event team in advance at hello@campusmanitoba.ca.
This information will be used solely for safety planning and will remain confidential.
Virtual accessibility & technical support
If you have not received your virtual access link by June 10, 2026, or cannot access the platform:
- Check your spam/junk folder.
- Add @campusmanitoba.ca to your email allow list.
- If the link still cannot be found, email hello@campusmanitoba.ca.
A replacement link will be sent as soon as possible.
