Who we are

The Open Horizons Symposium 2026 is presented by Campus Manitoba, the University of Manitoba, Red River College Polytechnic, and the University of Winnipeg.

The event website and registration form are developed and operated by Campus Manitoba, while Brandon University provides web hosting and financial administration for registrations. These institutions are Manitoba public bodies and handle personal information in accordance with Manitoba’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).


How this website handles your information

When you register or contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as:

  • Identity & contact (e.g., name, email, phone, organization/affiliation, role/title)
  • Registration details (ticket type, session selections, accessibility or dietary needs you choose to share)
  • Payment‑related information (processed by our payment provider; see below)
  • Communications you send to the event team

We use this information to process registrations and payments, communicate logistics and updates, plan accessibility and capacity, administer on‑site check‑in, issue receipts, and conduct required reconciliation/reporting.

Collection is limited to what is necessary to deliver the event and related services under the institutions’ public mandates, consistent with FIPPA.

  • Builds and maintains the event website and registration workflow.
  • Manages event communications and registration coordination.

Brandon University

  • Manages the servers and environment used to host the event website.
  • Administers the payment processing account.
  • Performs the financial processing, reconciliation, and secure handling of payment‑related information.

Presenting Institutions

  • Campus Manitoba
  • University of Manitoba
  • Red River College Polytechnic
  • University of Winnipeg

These institutions jointly oversee the event’s governance and ensure compliance with public‑sector privacy obligations.


Payments & third‑party processors

Payments are processed through Bambora/Worldline, administered by Brandon University.

Your credit‑card information is entered directly into Bambora’s secure payment environment and is not stored on this website or by Campus Manitoba.

Private‑sector processors (such as payment gateways) remain subject to applicable federal privacy law (e.g., PIPEDA) regarding their handling of personal information. Please consult Bambora/Worldline’s privacy policy for details on their processing and retention practices.

A confirmation email will be sent once your registration (and payment, if applicable) is successfully processed. Please keep this email for your records.

Please note that all credit card charges for this registration will appear on your statement as Brandon University.
