I am looking for 1 full time Research Assistant and three seasonal assistants to help conduct small plot replicated field crop research. One of the assistants may conduct some seed coating trials in the Seed Coating lab. The main theme is Soil Health and developing systems for Net Zero farming . The job is at my farm at Minto. You must have a drivers license and dependable vehicle to get to work . There is an older farm house near the farm for rent.. The jobs are 40 hrs./week , but hours may vary depending on the weather.

Highly desired skills are experience conducting small plot replicated field research plots

• experience driving 35 to 50 hp tractors.
• experience calculating herbicide rates
• physical able to weed plots , take biomass rating and conduct plant counts
• must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. on to the back of a truck

other desirable skills are:

• be able to operate a truck and trailer to move small plot equipment
• have a background in microbiology or chemistry
• having a farming background is not necessary but desirable.
• have a passion for agriculture and the role of agriculture in mitigating global warming
