Head Start/Nursery

                                  Full-time, Permanent

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Early Years Director, the School Bus Driver will ensure the safe transportation of students to and from school for the Nursery and Head Start Programs.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Safely drive students to and from school in a timely manner, following a prescribed route, on a daily basis during the school year
• Communicate clearly and interact with parents, co-workers, and the general public in a courteous, professional manner
• Reporting delays, accidents, and emergencies
• Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety
• Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals, mechanical equipment, and documenting, and reporting any repairs or concerns, etc
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness inside the bus
• Follow traffic laws and state and federal transit regulations
• Perform other position related duties as required

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must possess a School Bus Driver and/or School Bus Operators Certificate
• Maintain a valid Manitoba Class 4 Drivers License and reliable vehicle
• A clear driver's abstract for the past 5 years is required with application
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to supervise passengers under care
• Ability to communicate in a pleasant, courteous and effective manner
• Must respect confidentiality of work, be safe-minded
• Successful completion of Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search & Child Abuse Registry Check, or proof of submission
