Reporting to the Vice-President Academic and Provost, the Dean is responsible for providing strategic and innovative leadership to the Faculty of Education. The Dean will be an innovative and creative thinker with a vision of how to harness opportunities and respond to challenges facing the Faculty. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Dean works in collaboration with academic leaders, senior administrators and staff, and other key stakeholders to implement and to proactively advance UVic’s Strategic Plan and objectives.

The successful candidate brings an internationally recognized track record as a researcher and educator, with 3 to 5 years of experience in an academic leadership role; such as department chair, associate dean, dean and/or equivalent experience in the post-secondary sector. The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment as Full Professor in the Faculty of Education.
