Job description:

  • Interact with operations, maintenance and other engineering technical staff to collaboratively address key technical and business problems that can be addressed by digital technology
  • Preliminary scoping, cost estimating, scheduling and working on the economics for digital initiatives
  • Reviewing, evaluating and implementing digital solutions to identify opportunities to improve production or lower costs
  • Participate in project development utilizing ExxonMobil practices, processes, tools and procedures
  • Participate in project development mobile applications and productivity tools
  • Gathering business and technical requirements to enable digital solutions
  • Assist with data modeling and data engineering for digital solution implementation

Academic Qualifications:

  • University or college student available for a work term beginning in May 2020
  • Currently enrolled in a University or College computing, mathematics, statistics or engineering program and returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • To be considered for employment, your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application

Other Qualifications:

  • Commitment to safety on and off the job
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a minimal supervision and in a team-based environment
  • Previous petroleum industry experience is considered beneficial, but not essential
  • Previous machine learning or artificial intelligence experience is considered beneficial, but not essential
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills
  • Initiative, independence and accountability for tasks and understanding impacts on the business

Eligibility to work in Canada
