Duties:

Reporting to the Manager, Organizational Development, the Faculty Development Consultant is responsible for providing organizational and staff development services and programs which help to advance the goals of enhanced teaching excellence within the Red River College academic community.

Designs, delivers and evaluates training and development programs to support faculty in the delivery of quality learning experiences, in classroom and online. Duties include: needs assessment and program design; program/course delivery; acting as a consultant/resource regarding faculty development issues; program assessment and quality assurance; and research, analysis and reporting on teaching and faculty development issues and trends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in education, adult learning, business, organizational development, human resources.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Teaching experience in a college or post-secondary education environment
  • Collaborative, team-oriented and solution and client-focused working style
  • Experience with delivering training/instruction in a variety of formats, including blended and on-line delivery methods
  • Experience in assessing needs, designing and facilitating in-person workshops for a variety of faculty groups and staff
  • Experience in project management and achieving quality results as measured by client satisfaction
  • Knowledge and experience of leading practices and emerging issues in teaching and faculty development, organizational development, human resource management and higher education trends
  • Ability to communicate effectively both interpersonally and in writing to a wide range of audiences
  • Knowledge and experience in applying instructional design methodologies
  • Experience providing consulting services to individuals and groups within a complex organization
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Ability to positively influence and gain input and support from key stakeholders for new programs, initiatives and projects
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, SharePoint

  • Commitment to lifelong learning

Assets:

  • CAE, CPHR, IPL and/or PDAL (CACE) certification
  • Knowledge of and/or Change management certification (i.e. PROCSI)
