The Role:

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Financial Advisor promotes and provides financial services to current and former Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members, and their families. They will also provide information and/or assistance concerning insurance plans, benefits and other policy features and complete Insurance Needs Analysis, if required, to enrol members in a SISIP Financial product to commensurate with their needs. The Financial Advisor will also analyze clients' financial records, set goals and develop a financial strategy. The Financial Advisor analyzes investment portfolios and risk profiles and makes investment recommendations to clients.

SISIP Financial is located within the CANEX mall in CFB Shilo Manitoba. CFB Shilo is home to the First Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and the Second Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. With a population of about 1,400 military personnel and their families, the Base is completely autonomous with accommodations for more than 600 families and quarters for close to 400 single personnel.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related field, and some years of experience in financial services.
  • College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or a related field, and several years of experience in financial services.
  • A demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • This includes but is not limited to demonstrated military education, training or experience
  • License for the sale of life insurance (MB)
  • License for the sale of mutual funds (MB)
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP), an asset
  • Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), an asset

Experience Needed In:

  • In the provision of financial and investment services
  • In financial counselling
  • In building long term relationships with clients
  • In dealing with litigation matters and negotiations
  • In organizing and delivering presentations
  • In providing investment advice
  • In making assessments and referrals to other professionals
  • Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership (our shared competencies).
