Duties:

Reporting to the Chair of Civil Engineering Technology, the Instructor will deliver various courses in the Civil Engineering Technology family of programs focusing on interior detailing and CAD document production. Duties will include: course preparation, delivery, and student evaluation, the development and maintenance of course outlines, lesson plans, assignments, tests and examinations. The successful candidate will also participate in department and college committees, assist in department and college activities, and develop/modify curriculum to reflect current industry needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • A diploma in Architectural Technology or Building Design Technology; an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
  • Significant work experience with Interior Detailing
  • Significant work experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Effective leadership skills

Assets:

  • Experience with green building practices and documentation
  • Teaching experience in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience with online instruction and learning
