Duties:
Reporting to the Chair, the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts requires an Instructor to teach in our Culinary Arts diploma program. The Instructor will plan, develop, teach and evaluate both lab and theory courses related to the program. Instructional duties may include such courses as Short Order Cooking, Inventory Management, Advanced Cooking, Canadian Regional and Menu Development. Culinary Instructors must work effectively with the culinary and baking team to deliver approved curriculum content.
There is one full time permanent positon, and one full time term (1 year) position, please indicate which position you are applying for or if you would like to be considered for both.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma from a recognized Culinary program or Apprenticeship certification; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Culinary Red Seal designation
- Several years of progressive cooking experience in food service, which may include clubs, hotels and restaurants
- Extensive experience in an supervisory position
- Experience cooking in an upscale establishment
- Demonstration of excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work successfully within a team environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Interpersonal skills which demonstrate the college values of learning, respect, inclusiveness, integrity, and contribution to community

Assets:
- Certified Chef de Cuisine Certification
- Experience in meat-cutting and pastry
Conditions of Employment:
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Instructors are required to complete a Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
- Valid Food Handler’s Certificate
