Job Summary

The Network Administrator oversees and is responsible for all of the day to day IT activities and functions associated with supporting Sand Hills Casino Limited Partnership.  This includes IT hardware and systems installation; software procurement, development and maintenance; network management and systems integration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for running the daily operations of the IT department;
  • Manage the systems analysis, planning, and backup of the company’s financial and gaming control systems.
  • Manage the necessary material resources that support Sand Hills Casino Limited Partnership’s departments and systems.
  • Will assist the Slot department in Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs) set up, relocation, and removal within Sand Hills Casino.
  • Plan and organize equipment maintenance and repair works for all technical systems on property.
  • Request and order equipment, tools, and materials, as needed with approval by direct Supervisor.
  • Build and maintain a spare parts inventory for all hardware in IT department.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of all hardware equipment, periodically audit inventories to mitigate risk of damage or theft.
  • Participate in IT projects under the direction of the Director of Operations.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and complete work logically and independently.
  • Must possess excellent leadership skills with the ability to direct and support Sand Hills Casino Limited Partnership departments.
  • Ability to solve technical problems, work well under stress and follow instructions.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of customer service skills to internal and external customers.
  • Must possess well developed interpersonal skills, initiative, and the ability to set and achieve high standards of performance.
  • Assists in the overall development, installation, operation, maintenance of all management information systems on property, including surveillance cameras, computers, software, telephone, audio, visual equipment, point of sale, servers, etc.
  • Communicates with all departments on specific needs and/or problems, and acts as a liaison between Sand Hills Casino Limited Partnership and Vendors.
  • Assist with new developments, modifications, and enforces department procedures as it relates to technical support.
  • Ensures the successful conversion of user specifications into working computer programs, through design, modification, testing and evaluation of all software packages.
  • Evaluates network configuration and security, application usefulness, upgrades and improvements as required or needed.
  • Performs facilities and equipment and maintenance duties.
  • Practices Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Complies with all privacy and confidential information in accordance to applicable policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or Mature High School Diploma from a recognized Educational Institution.
  • Must possess an COMP TIA A+ Certificate from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution; or have a minimum five years’ experience in the IT industry with experience in the following Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Sage 300. Thorough understanding on Windows Servers, Linux Server, Citrix Hypervisor, firewalls and complex networking.
  • Must possess a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to think and act quickly as well as problem solve.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of people and handle situations that are time sensitive and stressful. 

Physical Responsibilities

Required to lift and move equipment up to 100lbs and from time to time work in confined loud areas.

The incumbent must obtain and maintain approval from the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA).
