TEACHING PRINCIPAL (FULL-TIME, PERMANENT)

Contract: Full-Time Permanent Teacher - General Contract
Location: CanAm Colony School
Effective Date: September 8, 2026
Salary: As per the Provincial Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement, plus an administrative allowance.
Assignment: 0.2 FTE Administration, 0.2 FTE Resource, and 0.6 FTE Teaching duties; teaching assignment to be determined based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
CanAm Colony School is located north of Margaret, MB, and currently has a student population of approximately 20 students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school delivers quality education while working closely with parents and Colony leaders. Reporting to the Superintendent/CEO, the Teaching Principal provides overall school administration, instruction, and supports teachers and students in the role of resource teacher. This position leads a dedicated and talented staff that includes one full-time teacher, one half-time teacher, and one educational assistant.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor of Education Degree and hold, or be eligible to hold, a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate.
● Master’s degree in Education/Administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership preferred; previous administrative experience considered an asset.
● Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of five years of teaching experience; experience working in multi-level classrooms is an asset.
● Strong understanding of Manitoba curriculum, assessment, and school improvement planning.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
