2025/2026, Summer Term, Course-Based Opportunity, B. Arts/B. Ed. Integrated Program – PENT

PENT is seeking qualified, Contract Academic Staff to teach the following course during the Spring/Summer session of 2026. All courses listed run from Monday to Thursday each week.  Should the course include a final exam, that exam will occur on the last day of classes.

The instructor will be responsible for content delivery with expectations consistent with offerings of this course within the appropriate department.  Qualified candidates must possess strong teaching, communication and organizational skills, and demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness.

30.274 – Creative Writing – June 1 – 25   – 5:00 – 7:30 PM

Creative Writing provides students with an organized and intensive approach to writing fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, drama, and film.  The course requires the completion of in-class exercises, regular writing assignments, a term project, and readings from various genres and critical perspectives. Topics for study include structure, style, voice, genre, audience, narrative, and meaning. The course will stress the important relationship between writing and reading.

Qualifications: Applicants should hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in an area related to the topic of instruction.  Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Master’s degree and are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee at the address below on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.

Salary:    $7857.00 per 3 credit hour course
