Duties and Responsibilities:
The Admissions Office Assistant is responsible for providing front-line customer service and support in the Admissions Office, interacting with internal and external stakeholders through multiple communication channels in a high-volume environment. The position is responsible for the overall application and file management functions of the Admissions Office, including, but not limited to, document processing, data entry, preparing applicant files, requesting documents, processing mail and digital file deliveries, and assessing file completeness for an applicant pool of approximately 3,000 individuals annually. This position is also responsible for general office coordination, including inventory management, purchase orders, and equipment maintenance, as well as performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate must have a minimum Grade 12 plus a one (1) year office administration certificate and three (3) years’ directly related experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience is required. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and using databases is required. Experience using student information systems in a higher education environment is an asset.
The ideal candidate requires demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and provide welcoming, professional front-line customer service while handling complex inquiries from a diverse clientele in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of strong prioritization skills and superior attention to detail. Must work well both as a member of a team and individually with minimal supervision.
*NOTE*
Skill based testing will be required. This is a full-time term until March 10, 2028.
