The Department of Biology is seeking Contract Academic Staff to deliver the following lectures at Brandon University for Fall 2026. Lectures are in-person preferred.
15:162 CELLS, GENETICS AND EVOLUTION – GENETICS MODULE – 2 credit hour module (lecture); approximately 4.5 weeks
Section A01, Slot 4 – Monday, Wednesday, & Fridays 11:40 am – 12:30 pm
Section A02, Slot 10 – Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:30 am – 9:50 am
A basic course in biological principles including cell biology, cell division, genetics and evolution. This course is intended for majors and minors and is normally considered a prerequisite for all further courses in Biology.
15:457/657 EPIDEMIOLOGY – 3 credit hour course (lecture)
Tuesdays & Thursdays 1:40 pm-4:30 pm (Slot 14).
The goal of this course is to provide students with an introduction to epidemiological research methods and to equip students with skills in the critical appraisal of the health sciences literature. This course will focus on measuring and interpreting patterns of disease occurrence; routine sources of data and their strengths and limitations; study designs used in epidemiology and when to apply them; uses of various software for analysis of epidemiology data; epidemiological models of causation; challenges and opportunities in genome wide data analysis and critical appraisal of epidemiological literature with reference to issues of study design and interpretation of results
Qualifications: M.Sc. in Biology or an appropriate discipline is required; a PhD is preferred. Prior teaching experience would be an asset.

Salary: $8,132.00 per 3 credit hour course
