2026/2027, Fall & Winter Terms, Course-Based Opportunities, Department of Business Admin – Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts is seeking qualified Contract Academic Staff (CAS) to teach the following courses taught in the Business Administration Department at the Brandon University Campus for the Fall Session in Term 1 and the Winter Session in Term 2. Courses may be delivered in an online synchronous format but preference will be given to qualified candidates who will teach in-person.

Qualifications: Successful candidate will hold a Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, and those holding a Ph.D. or who are at the ABD stage may be preferred. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Master’s degree and are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials. Relevant expertise in the specified area is required. Successful teaching experience is preferred.

Salary: $8,132.00 per 3 credit hour course.

Fall Term: Classes run from September 9 to December 11, 2026 with an exam period following.

Winter Term: Classes run from January 5 to April 9, 2027 with an exam period following.

16:250 MANAGERIAL STATISTICS (Monday 7-10pm) – Fall 2026
An introduction to statistical concepts and procedures and their application to Business Administration. Topics covered include: descriptive statistics, probability, binomial, Poisson, exponential and normal distributions, statistical inference for one population and comparison of two populations. Simple linear and multiple linear regression and Chi-Square tests. The use of spreadsheets will be emphasized throughout.

16:391 OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT (Monday 6-9PM) – Fall 2026)
This course is concerned with the management of the function of creating and providing the goods and services aimed at meeting and satisfying customer needs. Modern topics such as continuous quality improvement, value chain analysis, benchmarking, just-in-time management, new technology and process/product flexibility will be covered as also will several traditional and micro-management topics such as process control and capability, demand forecasting, production and capacity planning, scheduling and inventory control. Quantitative models, techniques and analysis will be introduced where appropriate.

16:201 INDIGENOUS BUSINESS (Tuesday 7-10pm) – Winter 2027
This course will develop students’ awareness of Indigenous peoples in Canada, focusing on Indigenous business and economics, including historical context. Students will gain an increased understanding of the impacts of colonization in relation to economics and business. Attention will be paid to key laws in relation to Indigenous business and economic development and will consider engagement practices when working with Indigenous communities.

16: 278 BUSINESS FINANCE (Monday 7-10pm) – Winter 2027
This course provides students with an introduction to finance, including the role of financial managers, the time value of money, capital budgeting and alternative decision tools, sources of financing, cash management, business valuation and financial analysis.
