Department of Mathematics & Computer Science – Faculty of Science – Six Month Term

The Department of Mathematics & Computer Science at Brandon University invites applications for a six-month term position to commence August 1, 2024, or as mutually agreed upon, subject to budget approval. The Department offers B.Sc. degree programs and B.Sc. (Honours) degree programs with Majors and Minors in both Mathematics and Computer Science. Applicants are invited to consult the Brandon University course calendar for more information on the program offerings. The successful candidate will be required to teach all courses in person. The preferred qualification for this position is a PhD or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.

*Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to these qualifications and are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to student-centered undergraduate teaching and learning opportunities and must provide evidence of teaching competence. The candidate hired will be expected to teach two sections of first-year Statistics (62:171) and one section of pre-university-level Mathematics (62:091). Experience in teaching courses in one or both of these areas will be considered an asset. Research experience will be considered an asset. Willingness to participate collegially in service to the department, university and the community that it serves will be expected.

Start Date:1 August 2024
