Probationary (Tenure-Track) Position, Department of Religion – Faculty of Arts

The Department of Religion at Brandon University invites applications for a probationary tenure-track position. The preferred qualification for this position is a PhD in Religion, Religious Studies, or a related disciplinary or interdisciplinary field. ABD applicants nearing completion prior to the start date of the appointment may also be considered.

*Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the doctorate and are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to student-centered undergraduate teaching and learning opportunities and must provide evidence of teaching competence in religion and culture related to Christianity, Judaism and/or Islam. Preference will be given to candidates who can also contribute to one of the following thematic areas: Indigenous perspectives, African or African diaspora communities, the Caribbean, Postcolonialism, and Gender and Women’s Studies. In addition, the successful candidate must have an active research and publishing program. Willingness to participate collegially in service to the department, university and the community that it serves will be expected.

Start Date: 1 August 2024

Rank and Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience
