Duties:
The Government of Manitoba is undertaking a provincial after-action review (the “PAAR”) in relation to the 2025 wildfire events to assess emergency management activities, identify key findings, and inform future mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery practices. As part of the PAAR, BU is providing independent academic expertise to prepare a report that reflects the combined outputs of the review processes. Up to four RA II positions are available to assist in the PAAR, including primary literature reviews, data integration, the acquisition of research materials and supplies, and perform data/word processing. The RA II may work with and under the supervision of an RA III.

Qualifications/Experience:
Third-fourth year undergraduate students majoring or minoring in ADES and in other related disciplines are preferred.
A general academic understanding of emergency management is required.
Time management skills to achieve project deadlines is required.
Working with research material, including proper referencing techniques, is required.
Experience working on a large document, including formatting, is an asset
Experience with wildfire, wildland urban interface (WUI) protection and adaptation is an asset.
Experience working with artificial intelligence is an asset.
