The start of a new research project or creative work is always exciting! The New Beginnings Conference celebrates new beginnings in research and creative works at Brandon University and aims to move research pursuits beyond academic discourse. This conference serves as a channel of connection between Brandon University and the local community in showcasing the research contributions of Brandon University students, graduates and faculty, strengthening research capacity and inviting the broader community to participate in these genesis in research.

We are pleased to invite you to this conference to learn about current research and to gain more information regarding grant applications through breakout sessions facilitated by speakers who have the experience in applying for grants in specific funding agencies including SSHRC, CIHR, NSERC, BURC, Francophone Research, and community grants. A budget talk with Kerry Murkin, the university’s Manager of Research Services, will also be conducted.

3-Minute Video Contest

Learn more about current research accomplishments and proposals as Brandon University students, graduates and faculty share the relevance of their research and creative works in giving back to the community through three-minute videos and presentations. Concurrent with celebrating Brandon University’s 50th Homecoming, join us as we strengthen research capacity and showcase research accomplishments with the goal of reaching out to partner with the broader community in taking these first steps towards New Beginnings!
