Beyond academia, Nick has an extensive background in event coordination, sound engineering, and public outreach. His experience ranges from organizing major university homecoming events to leading political and community engagement efforts. He has also been active in organizations like Brandon Pride, the Manitoba New Democratic Party, and various community outreach groups.
An avid Dungeons & Dragons player since 2001, Nick is currently the Dungeon Master for two parties. His passion for storytelling and collaborative gameplay extends to larger community events—he wrote and ran the PrairieCon 42 D&D Tournament, bringing together players from across the region for an immersive tabletop gaming experience.
With a strong belief in the power of knowledge-sharing and collaboration, Nick remains dedicated to building meaningful connections between academic institutions, students, alumni, and the broader community. Whether through strategic communications, advocacy, or event planning, he continually works to ensure that research, education, and engagement have a lasting impact.
