Dr. Dean Beaubier
Dr. Dean M. Beaubier is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education whose teaching and scholarship are grounded in more than three decades of classroom and teacher‑education experience. He holds an Ed.D. in Educational Studies from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Queen’s University, and degrees in Secondary Education and English/History from Brandon University and the University of Saskatchewan.
Before joining Brandon University as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Beaubier taught at the middle, senior, and elementary levels for over 30 years, developing deep expertise in English Language Arts, classroom management, inclusive education, and assessment. At the university level, he teaches across ELA methods, evaluation and assessment, inclusion, and classroom management, with a strong commitment to practical readiness for teacher candidates. His teaching integrates technology‑enhanced approaches using Microsoft Teams, OneNote, and Forms, as well as research‑informed strategies to support diverse learners.
Dr. Beaubier’s scholarly work includes peer‑reviewed publications on K–16 alignment, gender equity in athletics, and educational policy. His professional learning reflects a sustained engagement with Indigenous education, anti‑racism curriculum development, and inclusive school design, including coursework through UBC, the University of Alberta, and Brandon University. He is a recipient of the Brandon University Outstanding Professor in Education Award (2023) and has been inducted into both the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame for his contributions to athletics and coaching.
Across his teaching, research, and service, Dr. Beaubier is dedicated to supporting teacher candidates in creating safe, equitable, and engaging learning environments, and to advancing excellence in undergraduate education within the Faculty of Education.
