30.362 Between Revolutions: Restoration and Eighteenth-Century English Literature

This course studies literature written after the Restoration of the British Monarchy in 1660, and before the advent of Romanticism in the 1780s. Poetry and prose will receive special attention, particularly works by authors such as John Dryden, Aphra Behn, Daniel Defore, Jonathan Swift, Samuel Johnson, and Mary Montagu.

Prerequisite: 6 credit hours in first-year English literature courses, or permission of instructor.
