Texhelp’s Read&Write is a literacy support toolbar that offers assistance with tasks such as reading text out loud, understanding unfamiliar words, studying course content, online research, writing and proofreading assignments. The toolbar can added to most devices and is compatible with webpages, PDF and platforms supported by Brandon University, including Moodle and Microsoft Office 365.

Download and Installation
Read&Write is available for Windows, Mac, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, iPad and Android. To download for free, visit the Texthelp website, and choose the “Try Read&Write” button, then select your preferred platform.
Once Read&Write is installed, you will be prompted to sign in via Google or Microsoft, select Microsoft.
You will be required to have to sign into Microsoft with your Brandon University email credentials in order to have full access to all the program features. This is the only time you will be required to login.
Once you sign in you will be taken to BU’s login page and prompted to enter your details again.
At this point setup should be complete, and you will be able to access the Read&Write toolbar. Review the take-home installation guides for more detailed video instructions on how to download and install the program for your preferred platform.
Selected reference materials break down the tools available on your preferred platform. Quick reference guides show the name and icon of each tool and where each works (Docs, Slides, ePubs, Web and PDF). Video tours give a quick overview of program features and how to get each tool into use.
