Kathleen Servidad – President
Kathleen is in her fourth-year of Music Education whose major is clarinet. This is Kathleen’s second year on council. In her spare time, Kathleen enjoys spending time with her friends and taking care of her plants! Kathleen looks forward to another great year on council and at Brandon University.
Mackenzie Dunseath – Vice-President
Mackenzie is in her fourth-year of Music Education whose major is clarinet and is from Winkler, MB. This is Mackenzie’s third year on council, and this year she hold the title of Vice-President. Mackenzie is excited to work with this year’s BUSMEA council team to help students develop as Music Educators.
Robert Maningas – Secretary
Robert Terrance Morales Maningas is an Instrumental Stream Music Education student with a second teachable in general sciences. He is in his third year of his degree and hold the position of secretary on council. He is looking forward to a productive school year. His major instrument is puns… No. His major is trombone. Let this one slide too, please.
Jayna Butler – Co-chair Treasurer
Jayna Butler is a 5th-Year Music Education student who is originally from Gilbert Plans, MB. Clarinet is her major instrument and she studied English as her second teachable. Jayna hopes to teach elementary music and band once she has graduated. This is Jayna’s fourth year on council and her third year in the treasurer’s role. Jayna is looking forward to all the events that BUSMEA is planning for the 2020/21 tear!
Tyra Zander – Co-chair Fundraising
Tyra Zander is a fifth year Music Education with a teachable minor in Biology student. from Swan River, MB. Her major instrument is the alto saxophone and enjoys performing both Classical and Jazz repertoire. This is Tyra’s third year on the BUSMEA council as your Fundraising Chair for this year 2020-2021 and she is looking forward to another great year at Brandon University.
Janina Macalalad – Co-Chair Fundraising
Janina Macalalad is a second-year Music Education student with a teachable minor in Psychology. She is a jazz bass major and this is her first year on council. Her favourite music genres are R&B and Neo-soul, though she appreciates and is open to all kinds of music. Janina is eagerly anticipating a fruitful year on council and she is excited to contribute as co-chair of the Fundraising Team!
Nick Johnson – Events Coordinator
Nick Johnson is a fourth-year music education student from Brandon. His primary instrument is trumpet. He likes to spend his free time fishing and playing games with family and friends. Nick is the Events Coordinator on BUSMEA and looks forward to seeing what the future holds with advances in education.
Faith Colobong – Media Relations
Faith Colobong is a second-year Music Education student from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is a trombone major with a teachable minor in English. She has a knack for Tetris, prose, collecting novelties, and immortalizing memories. This is Faith’s first year on council as chair of media relations and cannot wait for what the upcoming year holds!
Auroura Ouzts – Corresponding Officer
Auroura is a fifth-year Music Education student with a second teachable in drama. Originally from Estevan, SK, she majors on the Alto Saxophone and gives extra time to her minor in voice. She loves spending time exploring music and developing her teaching skills. This year is her first year on BUSMEA council and is beyond excited to take on another amazing year at Brandon University.
Annabelle Dragicevic – 5th Year Student Representative
Annabelle is a fifth-year music education student from Winnipeg, MB. She focuses on Clarinet as her primary instrument and minors in French. This is her fourth year on council, and she is delighted to be in the role of 5th Year Student Representative and to partake in the year with the rest of BUSMEA council.
Alyssa Alambra – Fourth Year Representative
Alyssa is a fourth-year trumpet player and music education student who minors in physical education. She is a fourth-year representative on the 2020-21 BUSMEA Council. When she is not busy studying or practicing, Alyssa enjoys making music with friends, eating delicious food, and spending time with family. She is happy to be part of the BUSMEA council for the first time and is excited for what this year has in store!
Abby Petersen – Second Year Representative
Abby is a second-year Music Education student at Brandon University who loves to play the oboe! In her free time, you can find her reading or singing along to broadway musicals. This is her first year on council as Second Year Rep, and is looking forward to working with the BUSMEA council!
