Council 2017 – 2018

Leah Derksen is a fourth year music education student from Thompson, Manitoba. Her main instrument is trumpet and her teachable minor is biology. This is her second year on the BUSMEA council and she’s looking forward to what the 2017/18 year has in store!

 

 

 

 

 

Shelby is a third year music education student with a major in clarinet and second teachable in English. She loves working with children and shaping young minds. She is the vice president on BUSMEA this year and is excited for the 2017/18 school year!

 

 

 

 

Katherine Charles is a third year Music Education student in the Instrumental stream. She is the Corresponding Officer on the BUSMEA council, and this is her second year as part of the council. She hails from Winnipeg originally. Katherine’s main instrument is the clarinet, but she also plays bass, both upright and electric. Katherine is excited to go teach abroad after completing her degree here at BU.

 

 

 

Jayna Butler is a second year music education student originally from Gilbert Plains, MB. She is a clarinet major and her second teachable is English. This is Jayna’s first year on council and she is looking forward to a great year and planning exciting events.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Annabelle is a second year music education student from Winnipeg. She focuses on clarinet as her primary instrument and minors in French. This is her first year on BUSMEA and she is ever so excited to share the year ahead with the rest of the council.

 

 

 

 

 

Preston is in his first year of his education after-degree, with a previous degree in music performance. He has been a member of the BU Symphonic Band, Orchestra, New Music Ensemble, and Clarinet Choir, among various other groups.

 

 

 

 

 

Devon Hemmett is a second year music education student from Winnipeg. Devon is in the instrumental stream and his teachable minor is Theatre. His major instrument is clarinet and he looks forward to getting more involved with the school of music and everyone in it.
