Kaitlyn Greigson – President

Kaitlyn Greigson is a fourth-year Music Education student in the Senior Instrumental stream. She plays classical piano and is studying math as a second teachable subject. This year is her third year on the BUSMEA Executive Council and her first serving as President. When she is not at school, Kaitlyn can be found doing any and every kind of craft project! Kaitlyn is looking forward to the new opportunity of contributing to the BU School of Music as President, and is thrilled to work with the 2026/2027 BUSMEA Council! 

 

Ky McGhee – Vice-President

Ky McGhee is a fourth-year music education student in the instrumental stream. They are a baritone saxophone major, with this being their second year on BUSMEA’s executive council, and their first as vice president. Alongside music, Ky studies geology as a second teachable. They almost always have a cup of tea in their hands and a batch of cookies in the oven. Ky is excited to continue working with BUSMEA’s executive council throughout the 2026/2027 school year!

Sorena Atin – Treasurer

 

 

 

Sorena Atin is entering their second year of Music Education in the instrumental stream. This is their first year on the BUSMEA Executive Council, and they are excited to take on the important role of Treasurer. Sorena is a percussionist who enjoys all things music, whether it’s in rehearsal or just jamming for fun. Outside of school, they can usually be found hanging out with people, scatting, or playing music with their younger brother. From time to time, they may also be caught doodling instead of studying for a test they definitely didn’t forget about…. With a Persian cultural background and a goal to be as involved as possible, Sorena is looking forward to a great year with the 2026–2027 BUSMEA Council.

 

Ethan Fulford – Corresponding Officer

 

 

 

 

Ethan is a second-year Music Education student in the senior instrumental stream, as well as a minor in sociology. When not playing his trombone, you can find him hanging out with his friends or driving around town listening to music. It’s Ethan’s first time being a part of the BUSMEA council, and he is very excited for a fantastic year in his position of Corresponding Officer! 

 

Veronica Casigay – Media Relations Officer

Veronica Casigay is a second-year music education major in the elementary stream. This will be her second year on the BUSMEA Executive Council and first year as the media relations officer. In her free time, Veronica seeks out all sorts of other hobbies such as learning languages, enjoying quality time with friends and family, or listening to every type of music out there (yes, even country and K-pop!) She can’t wait for an exciting new year with the BUSMEA 2026-2027 council! 

 

Matteo Bercier – Events Coordinator

 

 

Matteo is a 3rd year pursuing a Music Education Degree. He plays Tenor Trombone, and this is his second year in the BUSMEA council as the Events Coordinator. He loves most metal genres but also likes to explore other types of music. Matteo is excited to see where this year takes him and hopes he can do his best as your BUSMEA Events Coordinator.

 

 

Amber Marofke – Fundraising Chair

 

 

Amber Marofke is a second-year Music Education major in the instrumental stream, with a concentration in French horn and a minor in math. This will be her first year on the BUSMEA council, where she serves as the Fundraising Chair. When she’s not in a practice room, she can be found hanging out with her friends or reading a good book. She is thrilled to give back to the musical community and looks forward to an exciting year with BUSMEA!

 

Julia Friesen – Third Year Representative

 

Julia Friesen is a second-year Music Education student at Brandon University. She is in the Elementary Stream and plays the Euphonium. This is her first time on the BUSMEA council, and she is excited to serve her peers in the role of Third Year Representative. When she is not at school, she loves to spend time at church and to relax at home with her family and cats. She is so excited for the upcoming year and is hopeful that it will be full of learning, growth, and beautiful music! 

 

Jonathan Fetsch  – Fourth Year Representative

 

Hi, my name is Jon Fetsch. I am a 4th-year student in the Concurrent Bachelor of Ed/Mus program. I am focusing my stream on early years, and have played classical piano pretty much my entire life. This is my first year on BUSMEA, and I’m excited for the new opportunities and people I will meet along the way as a 4th-year representative. I also enjoy playing sports, singing in choirs, spending time with my amazing family, playing board games, and forgetting to do my theory assignment. See you around the school!
