Services For Students
Learning Skills Workshops
The Academic Skills Centre offers a variety of workshops throughout the year, including the Success Series in the fall semester. These workshops cover some of the most important learning skills for university success and are repeated throughout the week to accommodate various schedules. Students who are unable to attend a session are encouraged to make an individual appointment to review the workshop information.
Individual and Group Appointments
Students are welcome to make appointments for individual or small group assistance with the Learning Skills Specialist. Appointments are one hour in length, and students are restricted to no more than one (1) appointment per week. Exceptions to these rules may be accommodated if possible, depending on availability of spaces. It is suggested that students come to the appointment with their class notes, texts, assignments or any special instructions provided by professors.
Walk-in Learning Assistance
Walk-in times are posted throughout the year to help students with quick questions or immediate concerns. Senior students are also available as Learning Coaches to help with calculating your GPA and developing skills to study and manage time more effectively, as well as getting better connected with campus resources.
