Biography
Andrea Thomson is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Andrea has psychiatric nursing experience in a variety of areas including an acute care psychiatric nursing, nurse educator, and mental health counsellor. Andrea is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatric Nursing, Faculty of Health Studies, Brandon University.

Research Interests
Andrea typically subscribes to qualitative research methods such as phenomenology, narrative inquiry, and interpretative description. Andrea is currently building a research program focused on accessibility and accommodation practices in nursing practice and education. Areas of research interest also include acute care psychiatric nursing practices, recovery-oriented mental health care provision, professional boundaries in psychiatric nursing, and sexual violence in rural areas.
