About our community….

Brandon University is located in the heart of the city of Brandon nicknamed “The Wheat City” in honor of its rich agricultural heritage. We are a progressive community with a quality of life that must be experienced to be appreciated.  Our economy is stable and poised for growth.  Brandon is in the enviable position of being able to offer its residents the best of both worlds: opportunity and sophistication of metropolitan life; and a stone’s throw from quiet country living. There are many lakes and parks within a short driving distance.  The City is a full service centre boasting amenities and conveniences generally found in much larger cities.  It is home to Brandon University and the Brandon University Bobcats, Assiniboine Community College and the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Brandon is the second largest city in Manitoba and the regional center of Western Manitoba. It has a metro population of over 46,000 and a trading area population of 180,000.  Situated in the southwest corner of the province, Brandon is located 200 km west of Winnipeg, 365 km east of Regina, 100 km south of Riding Mountain National Park, and 100 km north of the United States border.
