Biography

Wendy has been a dedicated Registered Nurse since 1985. This lengthy nursing background has provided diverse experiences in a variety of settings that include:

–  Outpost nursing in an extended role, within many Manitoba Indigenous communities. 
–  Medical and Surgical nursing, 
–  Emergency nursing 
–  Neurosurgery/Neurology 
–  Northern Manitoba Medivac nursing 
–  Bed Utilization and Patient Flow 
–  Palliative care 
–  Geriatrics
–  Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner 
–  Nurse Investigator 
–  Case Coordinator

As a dedicated advocate for the delivery of excellent nursing care, Wendy makes it a priority to help instill essential values in nursing students. Equipping students with the guiding principles needed to provide safe, competent patient care.

Research

As an emerging researcher, Wendy has interests in ageism, quality of life and other aspects of healthy aging. Other interests include the use of Virtual Reality and other forms of Simulation as Pedagogical tools to enhance realism in Psychiatric Nursing education.
