Born in São Paulo,  Brazil, Diogo Peixoto started playing guitar at the age of 11. Four years later he started working as a sideman, being called to collaborate with a wide range of artists in the state of São Paulo.

In 2007 he joined the group ‘Coletivo Orquestral’ under the direction of Mário Campos (State University of Campinas) where he had the opportunity to play alongside world class musicians, such as Arrigo Barnabé, Brandford Marsalis, Hermeto Pascoal, Vinícius Dorin, and also recorded the album ‘Compacto’ in 2010 for the label Kalamata.

Diogo is also an experienced songwriter and singer, having a number of his compositions recorded by himself and other artists, many of which were awarded in major song festivals in Brazil. In the past few years Diogo released his first two solo EPs entitled ‘Teto’ and ‘Teto 2’ in which he stars as singer, guitarist, composer, arranger, and producer.

His guitar playing is known for being spontaneous and intense. With his broad influences, Diogo shows a unique melodic sense and an extremely versatile composition style, without losing a keen rhythmic approach typical of Brazilian musicians.

Besides his experience as a player, Diogo has dedicated over twenty years to teaching music. Having taught music in conservatories, universities, giving workshops, training music staff, and music production courses; his mission is always to share his experience and knowledge to help students achieve their goals and find their own voice through music and art.

Diogo holds a Bachelor's Degree in Popular Music, a College Degree in Financial Management, and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance and Literature. Currently teaching at Brandon University (Canada), Diogo is producing his debut album and intends to pursue a PhD in the coming years.
