Kalin Contois is a third-year undergraduate student at Brandon University, majoring in sociology and minoring in history, with a keen interest in exploring the intersection of technology and society. Born and raised in Manitoba, Kalin is fascinated by how advancements in technology influence social dynamics and cultural norms. He hopes to someday pursue these interests along with attaining higher levels of academic education, and eventually use that knowledge to help others.

 

Currently, he is working as a Research Assistant on the Connected MB Project which is concerned with furthering knowledge on how internet connectivity is achieved for rural communities. He has enjoyed the opportunity to develop academic skills and learn more about broadband implementation, his role on the project has been mainly concerned with applying the Rural Connectivity Models to Manitoban broadband initiatives and helping with producing the projects podcast.
