Project Partner Highlight:
- The Environment and Society Research Group (ESRG) is a program of the University of Winnipeg (UW). Comprised of a team of researchers, students and staff, the ESRG is committed to conducting collaborative, transdisciplinary work that engages partnership from many sectors and regions, both domestic and international. Affiliated personnel aim to improve human-environment interactions by engaging with partners who focus on the human dimensions of environmental resource issues. They also align themselves to conduct work that links factors influencing sustainability of land and natural resource use in complex settings.

- In 2023, RDI worked with the University of Winnipeg to build on a national literature review exploring the specific impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic through the inclusion of international perspectives. This literature scan was part of the first stage of the Changing Nature of Rural Initiative with the University of Winnipeg (Environment and Society Collaborative Lab), contributing to the successful SSHRC Knowledge Synthesis Grant described above.
