The Rural Adaptation Needs Assessment (RANA) project was designed to:

• investigate the needs of agricultural producers as they attempted to carry out rural adaptation plans – specifically, adaptation, succession and transition;
• determine gaps and deficiencies in existing programs; and,
• examine the experience of past programs designed to assist farmers transitioning out of agriculture.
