  • In her fourth year of a Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in voice performance. Graduating in May 2024
  • Shelby has been a leader in performing ensembles like the University Chorale, Opera Ensemble, and Chamber music
  • Shelby is the lead vocalist in the alternative R&B duo Pomelo and the Jazz/R&B Fusion band Friday Kitchen
  • This summer, Shelby will perform a leading role in Opera Nuova’s (in Edmonton) production of the 2013 chamber opera When the Sun Comes Out
  • Shelby is committed to exploring and programming music by historically excluded musicians especially women and composers of colour.

  • Performed for many years at the Brandon Festival of Arts and the Associated Manitoba Arts Festivals. She has been awarded several scholarships as a result.
  • Dean’s Honour list and President’s Honour Society for every year of her degree
  • Interested in pursuing a master’s in vocal or opera performance
  • Her love of nature and animals is an important piece of her identity that she loves to integrate into her imaginative and creative processes when performing.

I will #BreakTheBias by making space for all voices and by doing my part in sharing and uplifting the work and stories of those underrepresented and silenced, both in music and life.
