Mark’s passion, is promoting the joy of playing the piano, and sharing simple insights into how this marvelous instrument works. He believes that once you understand what is happening under your fingers, you will enjoy a much wider-range of musical possibilities.

Mark Cramer, RPT has been a piano-service specialist since 1983, providing tuning, largescale restoration and concert-service. In 1998, he was invited by Dean Dr. Glenn Carruthers to initiate a piano maintenance strategy for Brandon University’s School of Music. The majority of  their instruments are grand pianos, including one of the largest collections of Steinway & Sons pianos in Western Canada.

The collaborative approach Mark employs for maintaining School of Music instruments is
unique, and BU’s piano maintenance shop is often host to technicians from across Canada, and all corners of the United States, seeking to further their technical skills.

Mark has been a Registered Piano Technician member of the Piano Technicians Guild since
1996, Sessional Faculty at the Banff Centre for the Arts since 1999, and Senior Technical
Consultant, since 2003. He also enjoys long-standing professional relationships with the
Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and CBC Radio Two.

Mark is a factory-trained Steinway & Sons piano-technician, returning to New York frequently to refresh his skills, and to help customers in the process of selecting a new piano. Mark continues to serve customers in the Brandon area, both old and new, as he has done since 1983.
