Music Enrichment at Brandon University
ME@BU is a new online program being offered through the School of Music and the Eckhardt-Gramatté Conservatory of Music. The aim of this program is provide music instruction and enrichment opportunities for high school students who are wanting more directed and individualized instruction than can currently be offered in school music classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beginning the week of March 8, 2021, the program will offer FREE private lessons and masterclass instruction via Zoom sessions to high-school students.
ME@BU will cover a wide variety of topics and will include a minimum of one weekly session. Private lessons and group instruction will cover technical development, aural skills, improvisation, music theory, music appreciation, and practice strategies. Program instructors will include BU faculty and students as well as invited guests. The eight-week program will be offered at absolutely NO COST TO THE STUDENT* and take place entirely online.
Program certificates will be offered to students who attend a minimum of four live group sessions and four private lessons. These certificates may be useful for students looking to demonstrate music participation for scholarship purposes. The School of Music will waive its application fee for all Grade 12 students who are interested in pursuing music and attend a minimum of four live group sessions.
