Michael McCormick – Director

Michael McCormick is a highly engaged strategic leader with a demonstrated consistent and fair divisional management style.  He provides a focus on building multiple strong stakeholder relationships of mutual respect and integrity to contribute to the overall growth, well-being and sustainability of the university.  Michael joined the Physical Plant team in 2020 as the Director, he has 20+ years’ experience in managing diverse facilities, project management, contract tendering and looks to build a culture of safety, innovation and sustainable change management within the university.

Al PuhachAlvin Puhach – Supervisor, Maintenance

Al has over 35 years of experience in facility and infrastructure management, prior to Brandon University Al was with the Manitoba Provincial Government for an impressive 29 years. Al was responsible for multiple facility infrastructures, which included the main campus of Assiniboine Community College and the Brandon Correctional Center to name a few. The last 6 years Al has been an instrumental leader within Physical Plant managing and overseeing campus maintenance, projects and grounds for the University. Al manages and leads with a passion for safety, innovation, excellence and customer satisfaction.

Michelle Augustyn – Health & Safety Advisor

Michelle is a Brandon University graduate who brings with her years of safety and health experience from health care, manufacturing, military and provincial government environments.  Her experience as a Certified Health and Safety Consultant will serve as an asset to the BU workforce and student body.  Michelle’s energy and enthusiasm, coupled with her legislative background, will aid in developing a comprehensive Safety & Health Program while fostering a positive safety culture within the university.

Oksana Bihdan – Lead Hand – IUOE -D

Oksana Bihdan is a Lead Hand of Physical plant at Brandon University, overseeing a team of Building Service Workers and Groundskeepers since June of 2015. Oksana earned a Bachelor Degree in Philology (Interpretation/Translation) at the International University of Human development in Kiev, Ukraine in 2006. Oksana is passionate about providing excellent customer service and a clean and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors on Campus.  She is driven by desire to inspire and develop others.
