Research Interests

Dr. Scott Forbes is a full professor in the department of Physical Education at Brandon University. Dr. Forbes has completed the International Olympic Committee diploma in Sports Nutrition and is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CSEP) and holds a Performance Specialization (CSEP). Dr. Forbes completed his B.Sc. (Kinesiology) and M.Sc. (Kinesiology) at the University of Saskatchewan, as well as a Ph.D. (Physical Education and Recreation) at the University of Alberta. Dr. Forbes also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary. His primary research examines various nutritional and exercise interventions to enhance performance in a variety of populations. Dr. Forbes has published over 150 peer-reviewed publications, 5 book chapters, and has been an invited speaker at several international conferences. Dr. Forbes has worked as a personal trainer as well as an athlete consultant for several professional and varsity level sport teams. Recently he was provided a fellowship award by the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
