Research Interests

My research interests have focused on the effect of Response to Intervention, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, and collaborative teacher teams on improving student achievement for all learners. By engaging in collaborative qualitative research to assess the impact of policies and initiatives, I hope to educate others about the value of public education and how our schools are working collaboratively to address the diverse realities of our communities. The current challenges surrounding creative, innovative ways to implement policies and legislative changes are issues that require strong leadership and are areas that I would like to explore.

I believe that it is important to model for others the prevailing attitude that we can all continue to improve in some professional aspect. By communicating current trends in research and sharing my own professional learning path, I hope to inspire other educators to want to identify challenges in their professional practices, and to help assume our collective responsibility for students through self-improvement and continued professional learning.
