Tuition & Refund Information

Registration is not complete until you have complied with all the requirements of the enrolment routine and have paid the prescribed fees to Financial & Registration Services. Tuition tables are found with the relevant session’s registration guide. Complete fee information is available from Financial & Registration Services. Students who register on or after the start date of each term must pay at time of registration.

Financial information is provided to students online. Students who do not have access to the online student information system are still responsible for prompt payment of fees. For each academic session, there is a due date for tuition, residence and all student fees.

Note: Neither final grades nor transcripts will be released until all debts to the University have been paid in full. Students will not be eligible for graduation until fees are paid.

Payment Due Dates (2024-25 Regular Session)

September 4, 2024 — Fall and Fall/Winter term tuition, residence and all student fees due
January 7, 2025 — Winter term tuition, residence and all other fees due

A $30.00 late payment fee (subject to change) is charged for payments received after this due date.

Payment of fees in a timely manner is required to avoid cancellation of registration. If cancellation occurs, a reinstatement process may be available. A reinstatement fee will be charged.

Payment Options

Visit Pay your BU Account Online for information on how to make payments by web or telephone banking through one of the major financial institutions. Payments can also be made directly from your financial institution’s website. Credit cards are not accepted for payment of tuition and residence fees.

If making payment through your financial institution, allow two to three business days for the payment to reach Financial & Registration Services by the payment deadline date.

Alternately, payments can be made by cash, cheque, certified cheque, Interac (debit card), bank draft or money order:

  • by mailing payment by cheque/money order to Brandon University, Financial & Registration Services, 270 – 18 Street, Brandon , MB  R7A 6A9.
  • in person at Financial & Registration Services, Second floor, Clark Hall, Brandon University.
  • by using the lock box located in the Clark Hall/ McKenzie Building link (available only at beginning of each term).

If you plan to pay in person with your debit card, ensure the transaction and/or daily limit on your card is high enough to cover the full cost of your tuition/residence fees.  If you are mailing your payment, allow sufficient time for Canada Post to process and deliver mail to campus.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that fee payments are received at Brandon University by the payment due date. A $30 late payment fee (subject to change) will be charged for all forms of payment if received after the due date.

You now have a new payment option to pay your tuition, residence and other charges on your Brandon University student account — use your HigherEd loyalty points to pay your Brandon University fees. Through HigherEdPoints, Aeroplan miles can be redeemed for HigherEd credits, which can then be used to pay your student account. Refer to HigherEdPoints for details.

Sponsored students are required to have their registration form approved by Financial & Registration Services. Online registrations must include name of sponsor.

Refunds

Tuition refunds (if applicable) are calculated from the date that Financial & Registration Services is notified in writing. Courses with non-standard start and/or end dates will have the refund calculated based on the dates Financial & Registration Services is notified in writing.
