Call forward
To program the phone so calls to your number are routed to another line:
- Do not lift the handset (no dial tone).
- Press .
- Dial the 3-digit number to which calls should be routed (on-campus only).
- Press again. An arrow in the display next to the button will light to indicate that calls are now being forwarded.
To cancel call forwarding:
- Press . The arrow in the display next to the button will disappear to indicate that calls are no longer being forwarded.
To re-activate call forwarding to the same number:
- Press twice.

Call hold
To place a call on hold, during which the caller can neither speak to you nor hear you:
- While a call is in progress, press . An arrow in the display next to will flash to indicate that the call is on hold.
- Press to resume the call.
To listen to a caller while they are on hold:
- While a call is on hold, replace the handset in the phone cradle.
- Press .
- Pick up the handset to resume the call.

Call transfer
To connect an incoming call to another line (on-campus only):
- Press to transfer the call to another line and disconnect your line OR press to connect to another line and remain connected.
- Dial the number (if no answer, busy or misdial, press the flashing to return to the original caller).
- Announce the call to the new party.
- Press or .
- Replace the handset or press .

Call waiting
To receive an incoming phone call while you are talking to another caller:
- A short buzz will be heard to notify you that another call is waiting at the switchboard.
- Terminate the current call by pressing .
- Replace the handset.
- The phone will ring with the new call.

Conference calls (on-campus)
To have more than one party participate in a call:
- While a call is in progress, press .
- Dial the 3-digit phone number of the party to add to the conference (if no answer, busy or misdial, press the flashing to return to the original caller).
- Announce the conference to the new party.
- Press .
- Repeat these steps for each person to be added to the conference call.

Hear voice mail
To listen to new or existing voice mail:
- The voice mail indicator lights to indicate the presence of new voice mail.
- Select a free line.
- Press or dial extension (727-7400 if dialled from off-campus).
- When prompted for your mailbox number, press or type your 3-digit phone number (if checking voice mail away from your phone). Then enter your password and press .
- When finished listening to voice mail, replace the handset or press .

Last number redial
To redial the most recently dialled number on your phone (regardless of whether you connected to it successfully or not):
- Lift the handset.
- Press once.
OR
- Do not lift the handset.
- Press twice.
- Lift the handset when you hear the dialled number pick up.

On-hook dialling
To dial a number without the lifting the handset:
- Press once and wait for dial tone.
- Dial the number.
- Lift the handset when ringing starts.
- If the line is busy, press to disconnect the call OR press and to have the phone notify you when the dialled number is free (on-campus numbers only).

Private consultation
To consult privately with another party while a call is in progress:
- Press OR (if no answer, busy or misdial, press the flashing to return to the original caller).
- Dial the number of the party you wish to consult privately.
- Complete the call.
- Press the flashing to return to the original caller.

Ring again (on-campus)
To be notified when an on-campus call for which you received a busy signal becomes available:
- When a dialled number produces a busy signal, press . An arrow in the display next to the button will light to indicate that ring-again notification is active.
- Replace the handset or press .
When the busy line becomes available, the phone will produce a short buzz. To connect to the line:
- Select a free line.
- Press to dial the previously busy line.
To cancel notification when the busy line becomes available:
Press . The arrow in the display next to the button will disappear to indicate that notification has been cancelled.

Send voice mail
To deposit voice mail for an on-campus party:
- Select a free line.
- Dial the express messaging extension (727-7401 if dialled from off-campus).
- When prompted for the mailbox number into which voice mail should be placed, type the 3-digit phone number.
- After recording the voice mail, replace the handset or press .

Speed call
To program a commonly dialled off-campus number into one of the ten available speed calls:
- Do not lift the handset (no dial tone).
- Press .
- Press one of the ten digits ( through ) on the phone to assign the speed call to that digit.
- Dial the complete phone number for the speed call (including the prefix for outside calls and for long-distance calls).
- Press again to complete speed call programming.
To dial a programmed speed call number:
- Select a free line.
- Press plus the digit to which the speed call was programmed.
