2013 Tentative BU Festival Schedule

The Brandon University Clarinet Festival is an exciting annual event that brings together professional musicians, music educators, clarinet enthusiasts, and students of all levels. Join us on March 22-23 for the third annual BU Clarinet Festival featuring acclaimed soloist and recording artist Caroline Hartig. This year’s festival also welcomes internationally celebrated guest artists Elizabeth Rheude(ND), Tori Okwabi (MN), Pauline Minevich (SK), and Brandon’s own Catherine Wood.

The festival events include numerous workshops (including yoga for musicians), masterclasses, performances, and a mass Clarinet Choir for all participants. The BU Clarinet Choir will perform a new commission by Winnipeg’s own Jeff Presslaff. The festival will feature new music by Brandon University’s Ali Montazeri and Chris Byman. Evening concerts include a Brandon Chamber Players concert of woodwind quintets and the world-premiere of a piece by Manitoban composer Sid Robinovitch. This piece is the first in 250 years to feature the D clarinet. The final evening Pro Series recital will feature guest artist Caroline Hartig.
