Emergency Information Building Maps

Brandon University buildings are equipped with numerous safety measures and equipment, as well as designated routes for evacuations and safe assembly points.

Emergency assembly points

In an emergency, you may need to leave the building you are in. Each BU building has a designated safe area for you to go to, sometimes known as a muster point. These assembly points have been clearly marked with signage. We will also assemble at these locations during fire drills or other practice sessions. Once it is safe to return following a drill or emergency, an air horn will be used to sound three short blasts, giving everyone the all-clear.

General campus map

A general campus map, including the location of service offices, parking, cafeteria, and more, is linked from the top of each BrandonU.ca webpage.

Emergency information building maps

These maps provide a floor-by-floor guide to the locations of emergency equipment and supplies, like fire alarms, fire extinguishers, automatic defibrillators, eyewash stations, sharps containers, and more. Maps also indicate room locations, washrooms, exits, and generally indicate the appropriate emergency assembly point.

The appropriate map is also posted on each floor of each building, and you are encouraged to familiarize yourself with spaces that you frequent.
